Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sorry for being MIA lately. I have been really busy trying to organize (yes trying and a bit of failing), visiting family, working and so on. In 3 hours I am leaving to my parents house which is a 5 hour drive away. But when I come back next year I will be doing a lot more projects! So excited!!

Christmas Pillows (part 2)

Im done with my christmas pillows. Remember I started one here: Christmas Pillow. I have now complete the other 5.

I made the patterns using a couple of different methods, both printing out images from the internet, tracing and cutting out as well as drawing free-hand. I think the end result might look a bit child-ish, but I like it. I think they look really christmassy.

Christmas Planner

I found this great Christmas Planner, and decided to use it as inspiration to make one for me and my sister Celia, and gave to to her 1st December as the first advent gift.

First I started with a notebook, and glued on a ribbon. I actually don't know how long it is. I measured using the notebook and just estimated how long ribbon I would need. I burned the ends of the ribbon.

I wanted to have a more "grown up" look compared to my inspiration, so I decided to have a black background. I measured the area where I was going to have the black. I did not make for the entire page, because I knew I would also have a boarder on one of the sides. Then I cut out one for the front, and one for the back.

Next I was going to make a circle to glue on the notebook. I wanted to have something that looked good, and was right proportioned as I wanted, so I ended up trying a couple of different cups and ended with the one in the picture below. I used this ans traced and cut out in cardboard.

Then I used the cardboard to cut out a nice Christmas pattern. I wanted to have some of the red swirly on both of my books, so the circles became smaller than I would have preferred them to be. Then I glues them on.

Then I had to make the boarder. I measured the notebook, and made sure the thickness was large enough to cover some of the circle. I made one for the front and one for the back, and glued them on.

The final part of the cover page was the Christmas planner sticker, which can be found in the link on the top of the page.

Cover page done. I just love how you can tie it, makes it look so much more better than just a regular notebook, and someone cant just accidentally open it and take a peek.

Then I glued on some page separators.

In Excel I made a calendar, using one page per week.

One for my sister, and one for me.
